Getting There

  • Driving

    From Sölden, head south on the B186 (Ötztalstraße) towards Längenfeld. Continue for approximately 10 km until you see signs for the Ötztaler Gletscherstraße. Turn left onto this scenic toll road and follow it for about 13 km directly to the Rettenbach Glacier area. From there, you can continue through the Rosi-Mittermaier Tunnel to the Tiefenbach Glacier. The toll for the Ötztaler Glacier Road is €25.50 for cars with up to 5 people, or €7.50 per person for cars with 6 or more people. Parking is free at both Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers.

  • Public Transport

    From the Sölden Postamt (main bus station), take bus line 4194 towards Längenfeld. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes until you reach a stop near the base of the glacier road. From there, transfer to the Glacier Bus (Gletscherbus), which operates during the summer months and takes you directly to the Ötzaler Glacier. A round-trip ticket for the Glacier Bus costs around €12. The Summer Card includes one free ride on the public bus per day.
