Getting There

  • Cable Car

    The primary access to ice Q is via the Gaislachkoglbahn cable car from Sölden. From the base station in Sölden, take the Gaislachkoglbahn I to the mid-station, then transfer to Gaislachkoglbahn II to reach the summit. A round trip ticket for both sections costs €51.50 for adults and €28.50 for children. The cable car operates from 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM. Consider purchasing the Ötztal Summer Card for free access to the cable car.

Originally, a restaurant was constructed on this site in 1966 when the Gaislachkogl was first made accessible by cable car. In 2013, the current structure was built, quickly gaining recognition for its design and culinary offerings. In 2019, Ice Q was awarded two toques by Gault Millau, solidifying its status as the highest toque-awarded restaurant in Austria. The restaurant consists of a bistro & lounge and a gourmet restaurant. The gourmet restaurant combines alpine traditions with haute cuisine. Ice Q gained international fame as a filming location for the James Bond film Spectre, where it was featured as the Hoffler Klinik. Today, visitors can enjoy the restaurant's culinary delights while taking in the views that once captivated James Bond location scouts. The restaurant has 130 seats inside, 82 seats on the terrace and a roof-top terrace which enjoys panoramic views.
