Getting there

Cable Car

The most common way to reach the Wurmkogel area is via the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski resort lifts. From the village of Obergurgl or Hochgurgl, take the gondola to the Top-Express. From there, transfer to the Wurmkogelbahn I or II. A valid ski pass or lift ticket is required. Expect to pay around €35-€50 for a day pass during the ski season. During the summer hiking season, a pedestrian lift ticket will cost approximately €25-€35. Check the Bergbahnen Obergurgl-Hochgurgl website for current prices and operating hours.

Hiking

For experienced hikers, several trails lead to and around Wurmkogel. From Hochgurgl, follow trail markings towards Wurmkoglhütte and Hinterer Wurmkogel. Be prepared for a strenuous hike with steep ascents and rocky terrain. Ensure you have proper hiking gear, including sturdy boots, and check weather conditions before setting out. There are no mandatory fees for hiking, but mountain huts along the way may charge for food and drinks.
