Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take bus #590 directly to the Mutterberg base station at the Stubai Glacier. The bus journey takes approximately 45 minutes. From Schönberg onwards, the bus is free for passengers with winter sports equipment, a valid ski pass, or a Stubaier Guest Card during the ski season. A single fare from Innsbruck to Schönberg costs €4.30. Alternatively, the tram service (STB) runs from Innsbruck Hbf to Fulpmes, where you can transfer to the route 590 bus. This tram journey takes approximately 1 hour.

  • Car

    From Innsbruck, take the A13 Brennerautobahn towards Italy and exit at Schönberg/Stubaital. Follow the Stubaitalstraße (B183) through the Stubai Valley to the Mutterberg base station. The drive from Innsbruck takes approximately 45 minutes. Note that a toll is charged for the short section of the A13 Brennerautobahn. Free parking is available at the 3S Eisgrat lift and the Gamsgarten gondola lift. If these are full, additional overflow parking lots are available.

  • Gondola

    Once at the Mutterberg base station, ascend to the Stubai Glacier via one of the two gondolas: the 3S Eisgratbahn or the Gamsgartenbahn. A one-section mountain ride to Fernau middle station costs €10.30. A mountain ride to Schaufeljoch mountain station costs €26.30. A mountain/valley trip to Eisgrat costs €31.60.
