Walking
From Schloßbergplatz, at the base of the Schlossberg, follow the well-marked paths and stairs leading up the hill. The walk takes approximately 20-30 minutes, offering scenic views along the way. Look for signs directing you to the Graz Museum Schlossberg. Note that some paths are steep and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
Public Transport
Take tram lines 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 23 to the Schloßbergplatz/Murinsel stop. From there, you can either walk up the Schlossberg (as described above) or take the Schlossbergbahn funicular or the Schlossberg lift. A single ride on the Schlossbergbahn costs €3.10 for adults and €1.60 for pupils. A single ride on the Schlossberg lift costs €2.40 for adults and €1.70 for children between 6 and 14. Tickets for Graz Linien public transport are not valid for the Schlossberg lift.
Taxi/Ride-Share
A taxi or ride-share from Jakominiplatz to the base of the Schlossberg (Schloßbergplatz) will cost approximately €8-€12, depending on traffic. From there, you can either walk up the hill or take the Schlossbergbahn funicular or the Schlossberg lift to reach the museum. Note that direct vehicle access to the museum is not possible.
Driving
Driving directly to the Schlossberg is not possible as it is a car-free zone. The closest parking options are the Kastner & Öhler garage (Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Kai 6-10) or the Kunsthaus garage (Lendkai 2). From either garage, it's a short walk to Schloßbergplatz, where you can then ascend the Schlossberg on foot, via the funicular, or by using the lift. Parking fees at these garages typically range from €3-€4 per hour.
