Public Transport
From Salzburg, take the S3 train to Hallein. From Hallein, take Bus 450 towards Krispl-Gaissau. Get off at the 'Gaißau Unterprem' or 'Gaißau Spielbergalm Lift' stop. From there, it's approximately a 20-minute walk uphill to the Gasthaus Schmittenstüberl, where the Walderlebnisweg begins. A single bus fare from Hallein to Gaißau costs approximately €4-6. A Guest Mobility Ticket provides free access to public transport in the province of Salzburg for overnight guests.
Driving
From Salzburg, drive south towards Krispl/Gaissau. Follow the signs to Gaißau. Parking is available near the Walderlebnisweg at Gaißau 177. Be prepared to pay a parking fee of €4 (coins required), though it may be reduced to €2 with the Tennengau Card. In winter, snow chains may be necessary. If weather conditions are poor, you may need to park at the Gaissau Chair Elevator Station and arrange for pickup.
