Gollinger Wasserfall Travel Guide

Gollinger Wasserfall, also known as Schwarzbach Falls, is one of the most spectacular natural wonders in the Salzburg region. The waterfall is fed by the Schwarzbachfall Höhle, a natural source/cave right above the waterfall. The water cascades down a rocky cliffside, creating a mesmerizing spectacle as it plunges into a tranquil pool below. The surrounding lush greenery and diverse wildlife make it an ideal spot for hiking, picnicking, and photography.Well-maintained trails lead visitors to various viewpoints, providing breathtaking vistas of the waterfall and the surrounding alpine landscape. The sound of the water crashing against the rocks is both calming and invigorating. The lower part of the waterfall is 28 meters high, while the upper part reaches 45 meters. The direct area of the waterfall has been a natural monument since 1985.To fully experience the falls, take the path along the Gollinger Wasserfall, where another viewpoint appears after a couple of minutes. The upper Gollinger Wasserfall is reached after an 8-10 minute walk. Cross the bridge to the Hexenkesselsteg (Witches Caldron Bridge) to see the Gollinger Wasserfall plunging into a hole.
