Driving
From Hartberg, head southwest on the B50 towards Kaindorf. Continue on the B50, following signs for Großhart. As you approach Großhart, look for signs directing you to Harter Teich. Parking is available near the pond. Be aware that parking may be limited during peak season. Parking is free.
Public Transport
From Hartberg, take a RegioBus Steiermark bus towards Großhart. Check the current bus schedules for the most up-to-date information via the SmartRide App or Verbundlinie Steiermark website. Alight at the Großhart Gemeindeamt (municipal office) bus stop. From there, it's approximately a 20-minute walk to Harter Teich, following local signage. A single bus fare is typically around €2-4.
Cycling
Harter Teich is a highlight on the R33 Harter Teich bike path, part of the larger Garden Tour cycling route through Eastern Styria. Follow the R33 signs from Bad Waltersdorf or surrounding areas. The path is well-marked and mostly flat, making it suitable for cyclists of all levels. There are several rest stops along the way, including the Harter Teichschenke, where you can enjoy refreshments. Bike rentals are available in Bad Waltersdorf for approximately €15-25 per day.
