Public Transport
From Vienna or Graz, take a train to Semmering Bahnhof. From the station, you can either walk to the Hirschenkogel valley station (approx. 25 minutes), take a taxi, or use the RUFbus Semmering-Rax. The RUFbus offers affordable transport to the valley station. Check the Postbus shuttle app or call +43 660 900 88 22 for RUFbus schedules. Train tickets from Vienna cost approximately €40 for a round trip. A RUFbus ride is free or low cost.

Driving
From Vienna, take the A2 Südautobahn to the S6 Semmering-Schnellstraße and take the Maria Schutz exit. From Graz, take the S6 Semmering motorway and exit at Spital/Semmering. Follow signs to Semmering and then to the Hirschenkogel valley station at Carolusstraße 3. Free parking is available at the valley station. Four charging stations are available for electric vehicles. Note that during peak season, parking may be limited.

Cable Car
Once at the valley station, take the 8-seater gondola lift up to the Hirschenkogel summit. A single ride (up or down) costs €21 for adults, €18 for youth/seniors, and €15 for children. An uphill and downhill ride costs €29 for adults, €24 for youth/seniors, and €19 for children. The cable car operates daily from 9:00 to 17:00 during the summer season (June 19 - August 31).
