Getting There

  • U-Bahn

    If you're near the city center, take the U2 line from either Stephansplatz or Karlsplatz stations, and head northbound. Get off at Rathaus station. Upon exiting the station, you will find yourself at the foot of the magnificent Vienna City Hall (Rathaus). Walk towards the large open square directly in front of the City Hall, which is the Rathausplatz.

  • Tram

    You can also take tram line 1 or 2. If you are near the Ringstraße, board the tram at any stop on the ring. For tram line 1, get off at the Rathaus stop, which is directly in front of the City Hall. For tram line 2, you can get off at the same stop. Once off the tram, walk towards the large square, Rathausplatz.

  • Bus

    If you're using the bus, take bus line 13A and get off at the Rathaus stop. After disembarking, you will be right in front of the City Hall. Simply walk towards the vast open area in front of the building; this is Rathausplatz.

  • Walking

    If you are staying nearby, Rathausplatz is easily accessible by walking. From the Inner City (Innere Stadt), head northwest towards the Ringstraße. Walk along the Ring until you reach the intersection with Lichtenfelsgasse, then turn left. Continue straight until you reach Rathausplatz, which is in front of the City Hall.
