Walking
From the Dürnstein Parkplatz P2, walk towards the town center, passing the Unterloiben gate. Continue along the main street (Hauptstrasse), keeping the Danube River to your left. Menthalgraben will be a short walk away, just a few minutes down the road. The Steinformationen will be visible on your right, forming the backdrop to the town.
Public Transport
If arriving by bus (Line 715 from Krems or Melk), disembark at the Dürnstein Parkplatz P2. From there, follow the walking directions into the town center. A single bus fare within the Wachau region costs approximately €2-€11, depending on the distance. Consider purchasing a 'Wachau Day Ticket' for €12 if you plan to use the bus for further exploration of the valley. This ticket also covers the Dürnstein-Rossatz ferry.
Driving
If driving in the Wachau Valley, take the B3 road towards Dürnstein. As you approach the town, look for signs directing you to the center. Upon entering Dürnstein, follow the main road until you reach the parking area. The city center of Dürnstein is a no-parking zone. Parking is available at the Dürnstein Parkplatz P2, located just outside the town walls. Parking fees are approximately €4 for 2 hours, with increasing rates for longer durations. Be aware that parking within the old town is restricted. From the parking lot, it's a short walk into the town center and to Menthalgraben.
