Schloss Allentsteig, a prominent landmark in the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria, boasts a rich and complex history. Originally constructed as a defensive fortress around 1100 by the Kuenringer family, it has undergone numerous transformations, reflecting the changing architectural tastes of its various owners.The Kuenringers, granted the land in the mid-11th century, initially built the castle from wood, later rebuilding it with stone.
