The Golfclub Zell am See-Kaprun-Saalbach is one of Austria's most renowned golf courses, celebrated for its idyllic location amidst the impressive mountains of the Hohe Tauern. The club features two 18-hole championship courses, the 'Kitzsteinhorn' and the 'Schmittenhöhe', set in a park-like, flat terrain adorned with natural biotopes and reed-bordered lakes. The location near Zell am See, the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, and Lake Zell makes it an ideal destination for combining golf with nature holidays. The golf club was founded in 1983, with the first 18 holes designed by Donald Harradine. In 1988, the course was expanded to 27 holes, and in 1993, the 'Kitzsteinhorn' course was completed, bringing the total to 36 holes. The course record on the original 'Schmittenhöhe' course is held by Bernhard Langer, who shot a 66 in 1992. Many international world-class players have competed at the championship facility, including Greg Norman, Severiano Ballesteros, Craig Stadler, and John Daly. Annika Sorenstam also celebrated her first title on the European LPGA Tour here. The club offers a restaurant with views of the course and surrounding mountains. The pro shop offers equipment, clothing, and accessories for purchase or rental. Golf lessons are available.
