Getting there

Public Transport

From Baku city center, take the Baku Metro red or green line to Nariman Narimanov Station. From there, walk west along Tabriz Avenue for a few blocks; the Heydar Aliyev Center will be on your left. A single metro fare costs 0.50 AZN and requires a BakiKart, which can be purchased for 2 AZN at metro stations. Alternatively, take buses 1, 2, or 13 to the Academy of Fine Arts station, which stops right outside the center.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available throughout Baku. A taxi ride from the city center to the Heydar Aliyev Center typically takes around 10 minutes and costs between 4-6 AZN. Ride-sharing apps like Bolt and Yango are also popular and offer similar fares. Be sure to negotiate the fare or check the app for estimated pricing before starting your journey.

The Heydar Aliyev Center is located on Heydar Aliyev Avenue. If driving, follow Heydar Aliyev Avenue north from the city center. On-site parking is available. Parking costs vary, so check signage upon arrival.

The Heydar Aliyev Center is a 57,500 m2 (619,000 sq ft) building complex in Baku, Azerbaijan, celebrated for its distinctive architecture and fluid, curved style, designed by Zaha Hadid. Opened in 2012, the center has become a symbol of modern Baku, representing the country's blend of tradition and modernity.The center is named after Heydar Aliyev, the former president of Azerbaijan, and is dedicated to showcasing the nation's culture and achievements. Inside, visitors can explore the Heydar Aliyev Museum, which features multimedia displays and artifacts related to his life and legacy. The center also hosts temporary art exhibitions, design and architecture galleries, and cultural events throughout the year.The building's design establishes a continuous, fluid relationship between the surrounding plaza and the interior. The exterior is covered in white panels, creating a dazzling display of light and shadow. The center has received international recognition for its innovative design, including the 2014 Design Museum Design of the Year Award.
