The Comərd Qəssab Türbəsi is a significant historical and architectural monument located in Ganja, Azerbaijan. The tomb dates back to the 7th to 9th centuries. While no historical records detail the life of Comərd Qəssab, local legends paint him as a revered figure in Ganja. According to one legend, Comərd was a butcher known for his honesty and fairness. He sold meat without using scales, always providing the exact weight requested by his customers. His reputation for integrity led the Muslim community to erect a tomb in his honor. Another story suggests that Comərd Qəssab was among the first to embrace Islam in Ganja, having traveled to Arabia to meet with Ali ibn Abu Talib, later the fourth Caliph. Upon his return, he dedicated himself to spreading the faith. The türbə features an octagonal design with projections on both the interior and exterior. Baked bricks and a lime mortar mixture were used in its construction. The monument has undergone restoration, most recently in 2004 by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, using ancient bricks brought from Nakhchivan. Today, the Comərd Qəssab Türbəsi is a revered site visited by locals.
