State Flag Square: A Symbol of Azerbaijani Pride
Experience Azerbaijani pride at State Flag Square: a landmark showcasing national symbols and offering stunning Caspian Sea views.
State Flag Square, located along Neftchiler Avenue in the Bayil settlement of Baku, is a 60-hectare expanse dedicated to Azerbaijan's national identity. Inaugurated in 2010, the square features the country's coat of arms, anthem, and a map, all rendered in gilded bronze. The square's centerpiece is its flagpole. While it once held the title of the world's tallest at 162 meters, a new 192-meter steel mast was installed by August 2024. In November 2024, a 36 m × 72 m flag was raised, certified by Guinness World Records as the largest and heaviest ever flown. State Flag Square is more than just a display of national symbols; it's a place for cultural events and public gatherings. The State Flag Museum, shaped like an eight-pointed star, displays artifacts that narrate Azerbaijan's history. The square provides stunning views of the Caspian Sea and Baku's modern skyline.
