Discover more about Flame Towers

Rising dramatically above Baku, the Flame Towers are three skyscrapers that dominate the city's skyline. Completed in 2012, these towers are more than just architectural marvels; they symbolize Azerbaijan's rich history as the "Land of Fire". The design is inspired by the natural gas flames that have historically emerged from the ground in Azerbaijan, a phenomenon linked to Zoroastrian worship. Each tower serves a different purpose. The tallest, at 182 meters, is a residential building with 130 luxury apartments. Another tower functions as an office building, while the third houses the Fairmont Baku Hotel, offering guests panoramic city and Caspian Sea views. At night, the Flame Towers transform into a dazzling display of light. Over 10,000 LED luminaires cover the facades, creating a mesmerizing show of flames, the colors of the Azerbaijani flag, and other dynamic images. The light show can be seen from all over the city, making the Flame Towers an unforgettable part of Baku's identity. While you can't tour the inside unless you are a guest or have business there, the towers are best viewed from afar, especially from Upland Park.
