Inspired by the renowned Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi’s “Seven Beauties” poem and the ballet of the same name by composer Gara Garayev, the fountain initially featured seven elegant swan statues. These figures, seemingly dancing with the rhythmically flowing water, captured the hearts of the city's inhabitants and became a legendary fixture.After significant reconstruction of the Seaside Boulevard in 2007, the original Swans Fountain was replaced with a new design. However, the cherished memories of the original fountain persisted, and in 2018, through an initiative by Azerbaijan's First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, the historical ensemble was lovingly restored to its former glory. The reconstructed Swans Fountain complex stands as a testament to Baku's commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while embracing modern aesthetics.
