The International Mugham Center in Baku stands as a testament to Azerbaijan's rich musical heritage. Opened in 2008, the center is dedicated to mugham, a traditional Azerbaijani musical form characterized by improvisation and complex modal systems. Recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage, mugham holds a special place in Azerbaijani culture. Inside, a 350-seat concert hall provides an intimate setting for experiencing the emotional depth and virtuosity of mugham. The center also houses a recording studio, classrooms, and a restaurant, making it a comprehensive destination for anyone interested in exploring Azerbaijani music and culture.
