    Getting There

    Taxi/Ride-Share

    From central Manama, a taxi or ride-sharing service (Uber/Careem) to the Bahrain International Circuit takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Ensure the driver uses a meter or negotiate the fare beforehand. Expect to pay between 10-15 BHD for the trip. Be aware that prices may surge during peak times, especially after major events.

    Public Transport

    While public buses don't directly service the Sakhir circuit, you can take the A2 bus from Manama Bus Terminal towards the University of Bahrain. From the University, you would need to take a taxi or Uber to complete the journey to the circuit, which is approximately 3.7km away. A single bus journey costs 300 fils (0.300 BHD). A taxi from the University to the circuit will cost approximately 3-5 BHD.

    Driving

    If driving from Manama, head south on the Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Highway (Highway 76). Follow signs for the Bahrain International Circuit. Parking is available at the circuit. During major events, parking is free for vehicles with at least three ticket holders. For vehicles with two or fewer ticket holders, parking may cost 10 BHD. Consider booking a parking pass in advance during peak events by calling +973 1745 0000.

    The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is a state-of-the-art motorsport facility located in the heart of the Sakhir desert. Designed by renowned German architect Hermann Tilke, the circuit incorporates many features of local culture. Construction of the circuit began in 2002 and was completed in just 16 months at a cost of $150 million. The BIC officially opened in April 2004 with the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix, marking the first Formula One race in the Middle East. Since then, it has become a prominent destination in global motorsport, hosting prestigious events such as the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the Bahrain GT Festival, and various regional competitions. In 2014, the Bahrain Grand Prix celebrated its 10th anniversary with its first night race, thanks to a state-of-the-art lighting system. The circuit boasts multiple layouts, including configurations for Grand Prix racing, endurance events, and drag racing. The 5.412-kilometre Grand Prix track features 15 corners designed to test driver skill and vehicle performance. The circuit also includes elevation changes, technical corners, and long straights, providing a thrilling experience for drivers and spectators alike. Beyond motorsport, the BIC serves as a cultural and entertainment hub, hosting concerts, exhibitions, and other large-scale events.
