The center honors Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa (1874-1933), a prominent figure known for his contributions to education, culture, and the arts. His majlis (reception room) was a gathering place for intellectuals and artists. The center has restored around ten traditional Bahraini houses in Muharraq and Manama, transforming them into cultural spaces. These houses reflect the unique architectural styles of the region and offer a tangible connection to Bahrain's past. Each house has its own character and purpose, such as the Mohammed bin Faris House for Sut Music, dedicated to preserving Bahrain’s musical heritage, and the Abdullah Al Zayed House for Press Heritage, honoring a pioneering Bahraini journalist.
