The final approach to Amiakhum Waterfall involves a trek from Thuisa Para, typically the last village with lodging. From Thuisa Para, begin early morning to cross Devota Pahar (Deity Hill). The descent from Devota Pahar is steep and takes about an hour. After descending, the trail leads directly to Amiakhum. The trek from Thuisa Para to Amiakhum takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours. A guide is essential.

From Thanchi, the most common way to start the journey to Amiakhum is by hiring an engine boat to Remakri. The boat ride takes approximately 4 hours along the Sangu River, passing by Raja Pathor and through scenic landscapes. The cost for hiring a boat from Thanchi to Remakri and back is approximately Tk 4000-4500 for a boat that can seat 5-6 people. Bargaining is recommended.
