Located approximately 9 km northwest of Cumilla city, the Maynamati War Cemetery is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during World War II. The cemetery is the final resting place for 736 Commonwealth soldiers who died in the Burma Campaign between 1939 and 1945. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) meticulously maintains the grounds, ensuring a peaceful and reflective environment for visitors.Before the war, Maynamati was a small village, but it transformed into a significant military base with several hospitals and ordnance depots. Many of those buried in the cemetery succumbed to injuries or illnesses in these hospitals.
