The Bangabandhu Military Museum in Dhaka stands as a tribute to the nation's military history and its journey to independence. Named after Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh, the museum offers insights into the nation’s military heritage. Established in 1987, the museum was initially located at the entrance of Mirpur Cantonment and known as the Army Museum. In 1999, it was moved to its current location on Bijoy Sarani, adjacent to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre. The museum was renovated and modernized, officially reopening on January 6, 2022, as the Bangabandhu Military Museum. The museum is divided into sections for the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The basement is dedicated to the Navy, the first floor to the Army, and the second floor to the Air Force. Exhibits cover the Liberation War, weapons, uniforms, medals, and vehicles. A separate building, the Toshakhana Jadughar, displays gifts and awards received by important national figures. Outdoor exhibits feature wartime vehicles and aircraft. The museum also includes a Cineplex, Mukto Moncho (amphitheater), seminar hall, and cafeteria.
