Getting There

• Car

  To reach Shillong Ward's Lake from Jaflong by car, start by heading southeast on the Jaflong Road towards the Dawki Road (NH6). Continue straight for about 15 kilometers until you reach the Dawki border. Once at the border, you will need to pass through immigration and customs. After crossing the border, continue on NH6 towards Shillong for approximately 75 kilometers. Once you arrive in Shillong, follow the signs to Police Bazar. The lake is located at HVHV+G82, Police Bazar, Shillong, Meghalaya 793001. There may be tolls along the route, so keep some cash handy.

  From Jaflong, take a local bus or shared taxi to Dawki, which is a short ride of about 15 kilometers. The fare will be around INR 50-100. Once you reach Dawki, take a shared taxi to Shillong. The fare for this leg is approximately INR 300-400 and the journey will take around 2-3 hours. Upon arriving in Shillong, you can hire a local taxi or use an auto-rickshaw to reach Police Bazar, where Shillong Ward's Lake is located (HVHV+G82). The auto-rickshaw fare should be around INR 50-100.

  For a more comfortable journey, consider hiring a private taxi from Jaflong to Shillong. You can find taxi services in Jaflong that will take you directly to Shillong Ward's Lake.
