To reach Backpackers Sundarbans Eco-Village via public transport, start by taking a train from Sealdah Station in Kolkata to Canning Station. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes approximately 1.5 hours, costing INR 30-50. From Canning, hire a shared auto-rickshaw or a private taxi to Godkhali, the gateway to the Sundarbans. The auto-rickshaw will cost around INR 40-60, while a private taxi will be INR 500-700 and the journey takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. From Godkhali, there are two ways to reach the eco-village. You can cross over to Gosaba Island, the biggest market for the surrounding villages, and then take an auto-rickshaw to the river bank near the eco-village, which takes approximately 1.5 hours. Alternatively, take a direct engine boat to the eco-village, which takes around 2.5 to 3 hours depending on the tide. Once in Satjelia, ask locals for directions to Backpackers Sundarbans Eco-Village, located at coordinates 22.1518757, 88.858221. The bus fare from Canning to Godkhali may vary, typically costing around INR 50-100.

If traveling by car from Kolkata, follow the Basanti Highway, which leads directly to Godkhali via Canning and Basanti. The distance is approximately 100 km, and the drive takes about 3-4 hours, depending on traffic. Parking is available at Godkhali Ferry Ghat. From Godkhali, there are two ways to reach the eco-village. You can cross over to Gosaba Island, the biggest market for the surrounding villages, and then take an auto-rickshaw to the river bank near the eco-village, which takes approximately 1.5 hours.
