Discover more about Folon Foundation

The Folon Foundation, located a short distance from Brussels, is a museum dedicated to the work of Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon (1934-2005). Established in October 2000, the foundation resides in the Château de la Hulpe farm, situated in the heart of the Solvay Regional Estate. This 227-hectare park, characterized by the Forêt de Soignes, ponds, and diverse flora and fauna, provides a fitting backdrop for Folon's art. Folon, who had dreamed of the estate's gardens since childhood, designed the museum's layout himself. The museum experience is an art installation, incorporating sound, movement, optical illusions, and the French composer Michel Colombier's music. The fifteen exhibition rooms display Folon's iconic images and figures, including watercolors, inks, engravings, posters, and sculptures. Visitors can explore over 350 pieces, representing the breadth of Folon's multidisciplinary work and his universally resonant messages. The Folon Foundation also organizes temporary exhibitions, workshops, and events. Visitors can also stroll through the ArtShop, and relax at the Taverne de l'Homme Bleu. The Solvay Regional Estate is open to the public and free to visit.
