Public Transport
From Knokke-Heist, walk to the nearest train station, Knokke Station. Board a train towards Ghent. Trains typically depart every 30 minutes. The journey will take around 1 hour. Once you arrive at Ghent St. Pieters Station, exit the station and follow the signs for tram line 1. Take tram line 1 in the direction of 'Afsnee'. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at 'Gravensteen' stop. From the tram stop, walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes until you reach Sint-Veerleplein where Gravensteen is located at number 11.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike in Knokke-Heist. Head towards the coast and follow the coastal cycling path towards Zeebrugge. From Zeebrugge, continue cycling toward Bruges. Once in Bruges, follow the signs to Ghent, which is approximately 30 km away. Use the designated bike lanes for safety. Upon reaching Ghent, navigate to the city center, and you will find Sint-Veerleplein. Gravensteen is located at number 11.
Walking
Since Knokke-Heist is quite far from Ghent, walking is not recommended due to the distance. However, if you are already in Ghent, walk towards the city center. Start from the Gravensteen's location by walking down the Sint-Veerleplein. The castle is easily visible, and you can enter through the main entrance.
Taxi or Ride-sharing
If you prefer a more direct route without public transport, you can take a taxi or use a ride-sharing app. Simply request a ride to Sint-Veerleplein 11, Ghent. The driver will take you directly to Gravensteen, and the journey will take approximately 1 hour from Knokke-Heist, depending on traffic.
