Getting There

    From the center of Tournai, start at the Grand Place. Head southeast towards Rue de la Reine, and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Rue de Lille. Turn left onto Rue de Lille and continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers. You will cross over the River Escaut. After crossing, continue straight until you reach the junction with Avenue du 43e régiment d'infanterie in Lille. The Citadel of Lille will be on your right.

    From Tournai, walk to the nearest bus stop at Place de l'Evêché. Take bus line 18 towards Lille. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Lille - Porte de Valenciennes'. From there, walk south along Rue de Valenciennes until you reach Avenue du 43e régiment d'infanterie. The Citadel of Lille will be a short walk ahead on your left.

    Head to Tournai train station located near the city center. Take a train towards Lille Flandres station. The train ride takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Lille Flandres, exit the station and head towards the main exit. Walk towards Rue Faidherbe, and then turn left onto Rue de Paris. Continue until you reach the junction with Avenue du 43e régiment d'infanterie. The Citadel of Lille will be a short distance ahead on your right.
