If you're driving, take the George Price Highway (Western Highway) from Belize City. Continue on the highway for approximately 30 miles (48 km) until you reach the junction for the Hummingbird Highway. Turn left onto the Hummingbird Highway and continue for about 10 miles (16 km) until you reach the village of Orange Walk. From Orange Walk, follow the signs for the Lamanai Archaeological Reserve. You will need to drive to the village of San Felipe, and from there, continue on a dirt road that leads to the reserve. Note that the road can be rough and may require a four-wheel-drive vehicle. Total travel time is about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions.

To reach Lamanai by public transport, start by taking a bus from Belize City to Orange Walk. Buses leave from the Belize City bus terminal and the fare is around BZD 7-10.
