Walking
Start your journey at the Corozal Town Central Park, which is a well-known meeting point. From there, head east along 4th Avenue until you reach the intersection with 1st Street. Turn left onto 1st Street and continue walking until you reach the bus terminal on your right. At the bus terminal, look for a bus heading towards Bacalar, Mexico. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they stop in Bacalar. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride. After approximately 30-45 minutes, you will arrive in Bacalar. Upon arrival, exit the bus and walk towards Av 3. Fuerte de San Felipe de Bacalar is located a short walk along Av 3, directly ahead.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Corozal Town. Start at the Corozal Town Central Park and head east along 4th Avenue. Take a left at the intersection with 1st Street and ride towards the bus terminal. From there, follow signs leading to Bacalar, which is approximately 30 kilometers south. The road is generally safe for cycling, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way. Once you reach Bacalar, park your bike and walk along Av 3 until you find Fuerte de San Felipe de Bacalar.

Taxi
From anywhere in Corozal Town, you can hail a local taxi. Provide the driver with the destination 'Fuerte de San Felipe de Bacalar' and ensure they understand you want to go to Bacalar, Mexico. The taxi will take you directly to the border crossing. Once you arrive at the border, you will need to go through immigration. After crossing into Mexico, you can either continue in the same taxi or catch a local taxi in Bacalar to take you to the fortress. It is about a 10-minute ride from the border.
