Car
From Sarteneja, head south on the main road towards Corozal Town. Continue on the road until you reach the junction for the Philip Goldson Highway (Hwy 54). Turn left onto the highway and continue to follow the signs to Orange Walk. After about 30 km, take the exit towards Belize City and follow the signs to the border crossing at Subteniente López. After crossing into Mexico, continue on Mexico Highway 186 until you reach Bacalar. Follow the signs to Laguna Bacalar, where Xtomoc Laguna De Bacalar is located. Parking is available near the lagoon.

From Sarteneja, take a local bus or taxi to Corozal Town. Once in Corozal, catch a bus heading to Chetumal, Mexico. The bus ride will take approximately 1-2 hours. Upon arrival in Chetumal, transfer to a bus heading to Bacalar. The journey from Chetumal to Bacalar typically takes around 30-45 minutes. After arriving in Bacalar, you can either walk or take a taxi to Xtomoc Laguna De Bacalar, which is located near the lagoon. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary, and expect to pay around $10-15 USD for the total trip.
