Car
If you're driving from San Ignacio, head southeast on the Southern Highway (Hummingbird Highway) towards the town of Dangriga. Continue on the Southern Highway for approximately 42 miles (68 km) until you reach the turnoff for the Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. Turn left onto the road leading to the reserve, following the signs for Rio Frio Cave. Continue along this road for about 5 miles (8 km). You'll reach the Rio Frio Cave parking area, where you can park your vehicle and begin your exploration.

To reach Rio Frio Cave via public transportation, start from San Ignacio. Board a bus heading to Dangriga at the main bus terminal. The bus ride will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Dangriga, you may need to transfer to a local bus or taxi that heads towards the Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. Ask the driver to drop you off at the turnoff for the cave. After getting off, you will need to walk approximately 5 miles (8 km) to reach the cave entrance, which is accessible via a well-marked trail.
