Car
To reach The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center from The Cayes by car, start by driving towards Belize City. Take the Southern Highway from The Cayes and merge onto the George Price Highway. Continue west for approximately 29 miles. The zoo is located on Mile 29 of the George Price Highway in La Democracia. Look for the signs indicating the zoo, as well as the entrance, which will be on your right. There is a parking area available on-site.

If you prefer to travel by public transport, you can take a bus from The Cayes to Belize City. Head to the nearest bus terminal in The Cayes, and catch any bus heading to Belize City. The bus fare will typically cost around $10 BZD (Belize Dollars). Once in Belize City, you will need to transfer to a bus heading towards Belmopan. After boarding, inform the driver that you want to stop at The Belize Zoo. This portion of the trip may cost an additional $5-10 BZD. The bus will drop you off near the entrance of the zoo, which is just a short walk from the road.
