Car Rental
If you're renting a car, start your journey from San Pedro or Caye Caulker. Take the ferry back to Belize City, which costs around $25 USD and takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Belize City, follow the signs to the Philip Goldson Highway (also known as the Northern Highway) heading north. Continue on the highway for approximately 30 miles (about 45 minutes). Look for signs for Altun Ha, and turn left onto the access road leading to the site. There is a parking area available.

From San Pedro or Caye Caulker, take the ferry back to Belize City (approximately $25 USD, 1.5 hours). Once you arrive in Belize City, head to the bus terminal. Look for a bus heading to Orange Walk or Corozal; these buses typically cost around $2-3 USD. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at Altun Ha. The stop is about 2 miles from the entrance to the site. After disembarking, you might need to walk a short distance or arrange a taxi to get to the archaeological site entrance.

If you prefer a direct route from Belize City, you can take a taxi to Altun Ha. This is the most convenient but also the most expensive option, costing approximately $60-80 USD for a one-way trip. The drive takes about 30-45 minutes. Ensure to arrange for your return trip with the taxi driver.
