    From The Cayes, drive to the mainland of Belize. If you are starting from Caye Caulker or Ambergris Caye, take a water taxi to Belize City. Once you arrive in Belize City, head south on the George Price Highway (also known as the Western Highway). Continue on this highway for about 50 miles (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes) until you reach the turnoff for Seven Miles El Progresso. Turn right onto the road leading to the Barton Creek Cave Reserve. Follow the signs for about 5 miles until you reach the reserve entrance. Be aware that there may be a small entrance fee to access the park.

    From The Cayes, take a water taxi to Belize City. Once in Belize City, locate the bus terminal (usually near the water taxi terminal) and board a bus heading to San Ignacio.
