Car
To reach Dochula Pass from Dagana by car, start on the main road heading northeast towards Thimphu. The journey is approximately 60 km and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions. Follow the signs towards Thimphu, and as you approach the pass, you will see a turnoff for Dochula Pass on your left. The pass is marked with colorful prayer flags and offers stunning views of the Himalayas. Make sure to have a full tank of gas as there are limited refueling options along the way.
Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, take a local bus or shared taxi from Dagana to Thimphu. Buses leave frequently from the main bus station. The fare is typically around 100-150 Ngultrum and the journey will take about 2 hours. Once you arrive in Thimphu, you can hire a taxi to Dochula Pass, which will cost approximately 800-1000 Ngultrum for the round trip. Be sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The taxi ride from Thimphu to Dochula Pass takes about 30 minutes.
