If you are traveling by car, you can reach Phobjikha Valley from Bumthang, a popular point in Eastern Bhutan. From Bumthang, take the road towards Wangdue Phodrang. The journey will take approximately 4 to 5 hours. Once you reach Wangdue Phodrang, continue on the road towards Gangtey. Follow the signs to Phobjikha Valley, which is about 30 minutes from Gangtey. The roads are generally in good condition, but be cautious of the mountain curves and occasional landslides. Parking is available at various points in the valley.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start your journey from Bumthang by taking a local bus to Wangdue Phodrang. The bus ride takes around 5 to 6 hours. Once you arrive in Wangdue Phodrang, you can catch a shared taxi or a local bus to Gangtey, which will take about 30 minutes. From Gangtey, you can either walk or hire a taxi to get to Phobjikha Valley. Ensure you check the bus schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently, especially on weekends.
