Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Jakar, head east towards the main street, Wangdue Phodrang Road. Continue walking straight for about 500 meters until you reach a small bridge that crosses the river. Cross the bridge and turn left immediately after. Follow the path uphill for approximately 300 meters. You will see the Jakar Lhakhang on your right, situated on a small hilltop with a beautiful view of the valley.

    If you are near the Jakar Dzong, you can take a scenic route. Start at the Dzong and head south along the path that leads down towards the river. Once you reach the river, follow the path upstream for about 1 kilometer. Look for a signpost indicating Jakar Lhakhang on your left. Ascend the gentle slope for about 200 meters, and you will arrive at the temple.

    From the Jakar Market area, proceed to the main road and turn right onto Wangdue Phodrang Road. Walk for about 400 meters until you see a fork in the road. Take the left fork and follow the path that leads uphill. After about 600 meters, you will spot Jakar Lhakhang on your left surrounded by prayer flags and scenic views.
