Walking
From the center of Paro town, start at the Paro Dzong, a prominent historical site. Head north along the main street, following signs towards the National Museum (Ta-Dzong). Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the road that leads to the airport. At this intersection, you will find the road to Drakarpo to your left. Follow this road, which passes through beautiful landscapes and small villages. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will see signs directing you towards Drakarpo. Keep walking for another 30-40 minutes; the path will lead you through lush greenery and hills. You will finally arrive at Drakarpo, where you can explore this sacred site.
Hiking
If you're looking for a more adventurous route, consider hiking from the Paro Dzong. Begin your hike by heading towards the trail that leads from the Dzong up into the hills. The trail is well-marked and offers stunning views of the valley. After about 1 hour of hiking, you will connect to a smaller path that leads towards Drakarpo. This trail can be steep in parts, so wear appropriate hiking shoes. Continue for another hour, and you will reach Drakarpo, which is known for its serene atmosphere and sacred significance.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Paro town. Start from the main square and head towards the National Museum. From there, take the left fork towards the airport road. The ride to Drakarpo is approximately 4 kilometers and should take about 20-30 minutes depending on your pace. The road is a mix of paved and dirt paths, so be prepared for some uneven terrain. Enjoy the scenic views along the way and keep an eye out for local wildlife. Once you arrive at Drakarpo, park your bike safely and take time to explore the area.
