Getting There

Walking
Starting from the center of Paro, head towards the main street (Drukgyel Highway). Walk along the main street until you reach the junction near Paro Airport. At the junction, turn left onto the road leading to Semtokha. Continue walking for about 2.5 kilometers until you reach a sign for Simtokha. The dzong is located about 200 meters further up the road on the left side. The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes.

Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Paro. Begin your journey by cycling along the Drukgyel Highway, heading towards Semtokha. After approximately 2.5 kilometers, look for a sign indicating the direction to Simtokha Dzong. Turn left at the sign and continue cycling for another 200 meters until you reach the dzong. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.

From the center of Paro, find a local bus or shared taxi heading towards Thimphu. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Semtokha stop.
