If you're traveling by car, start your journey from the center of Sarpang District. Head east on the main highway towards Gelephu. After approximately 30 km, you will see signs for Motithang. Turn off the highway onto the road leading to Motithang. Continue straight for about 10 km until you reach the Royal Takin Preserve. There is parking available at the entrance.

To reach the Royal Takin Preserve using public transportation, catch a local bus from Sarpang District heading towards Gelephu. These buses usually run every hour. Inform the bus driver that you wish to get off at Motithang. After approximately 30-45 minutes, you will arrive in Motithang. From the bus stop, it is a short walk of about 1 km to the preserve. Look for signs directing you to the Royal Takin Preserve.
