If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Thimphu city. Head north on Norzim Lam towards the Changlimithang Stadium. Continue straight onto the Thimphu-Phuentsholing Highway (NH-8) for about 6 kilometers. Look for signs directing to Dechenphug Lhakhang. You will see a left turn that takes you towards the temple, which is located on a hilltop. The drive should take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.

To reach Dechenphug Lhakhang via public transportation, catch a bus from the main bus terminal in Thimphu. Look for buses heading towards the northern areas or specifically to Dechencholing. The fare is usually around 15-30 Ngultrum. Inform the conductor that you want to go to Dechenphug Lhakhang. The bus will drop you near the temple, from where you may need to walk about 10-15 minutes uphill to reach the temple entrance.
