From the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, start by heading south on the main road. Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with the Thimphu-Wangdue Phodrang highway (NH3). Turn left at the junction and walk along the highway. After about 5 kilometers, you'll reach the town of Thimphu. Once in Thimphu, look for Chhoten Lam, which is clearly marked. The National Memorial Chorten is located on Chhoten Lam, just a short walk from the highway.

If you are near the Wangdue Phodrang Market, head east towards the main road. Once you reach the road, take a left and follow it until you come to the Thimphu-Wangdue Phodrang highway (NH3). Turn left onto the highway and walk straight for about 5 kilometers. Continue into Thimphu and look for Chhoten Lam street signs. The National Memorial Chorten will be on your left.
