Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, which is a prominent landmark in the area. From there, head northeast along the main road (National Highway 2). Continue walking for about 2 kilometers until you reach the junction at Bajo. At this junction, take a left turn towards Punakha. After about 1 kilometer, you will see signs for Riverfront Punakha. Follow these signs, and you will arrive at Riverfront Punakha, located at JV23+JJX in Punakha.

  • Bicycle

    If you have access to a bicycle, you can cycle from Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. Head northeast on the main road (National Highway 2) for approximately 2 kilometers. At the junction in Bajo, take a left towards Punakha. Continue for about 1 kilometer, following the signs for Riverfront Punakha. The ride is relatively flat and should take around 15-20 minutes.

  • Local Transport

    Look for a local bus or shared taxi that is headed towards Punakha. You can catch these from the central area near Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Riverfront Punakha or at the junction towards Punakha. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the junction, follow the signs to Riverfront Punakha, which is about a 10-minute walk from there.
