Discover more about Trebević Vidikovac

Trebević Vidikovac stands as one of Sarajevo's most impressive viewpoints, offering a breathtaking panorama of the city and the surrounding mountains. Situated on Trebević Mountain, it provides a serene escape from the urban bustle, blending natural beauty with historical resonance. Until 1992, visitors could reach Vidikovac via a cable car that started its journey on Hrvatin Street in Bistrik. The ride, which took approximately 12 minutes, was an attraction in itself, offering views of the city. At the top, Restaurant Vidikovac provided a place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Sadly, the war in the 1990s destroyed the cable car and the restaurant. In April 2018, the cable car was rebuilt, restoring access to Trebević. The modern cable car has 33 gondolas, each accommodating ten passengers, and the ride to the top takes about eight minutes. Once at the summit, visitors can explore well-maintained paths, enjoy picnics, and admire the scenery. The area is also known for its role in the 1984 Winter Olympics. Visitors can explore the remains of the Olympic bobsleigh track, offering a glimpse into the past.
