    Getting There

    Driving

    From Palapye, head north on the A1 road. After 21 km, turn right, and after another 26 km, turn right again to head south. After 8 km, look for a signpost for 'Moremi' and turn right. Follow this road for 10 km to reach the town of Moremi. In Moremi village, turn right (west) onto a good gravel track signed for the gorge. After 1.5 km, head left across a bridge over a sandy river channel. The track bends left to the entrance and reception of Goo-Moremi Gorge. Note that there are no fuel stations near Goo-Moremi, so stock up in Palapye.

    From Palapye, taxis can be hired to take you to Goo-Moremi Gorge Resort. Negotiate the fare beforehand, as there are no set rates. A typical taxi ride from Palapye to Goo-Moremi Gorge Resort will cost approximately 200-300 Botswana Pula.

Situated at the foot of the Tswapong Hills, the resort is part of a community-based tourism initiative managed by the Moremi-Manonnye Conservation Trust in partnership with the Botswana Tourism Organisation. The area holds deep cultural significance for the local Batswapong people, who believe the gorge is the resting place of their ancestral spirits.The resort provides various accommodation options, including self-catering chalets, Meru-style tents, and campsites. The chalets are equipped with kitchenettes, en-suite bathrooms, and outdoor showers, while the Meru tents offer air conditioning and a touch of luxury.
