    From Francistown, head northeast towards the Masunga-Kalamati Road. Follow the signs for Tachila Nature Reserve, approximately 10km from the city center. The drive takes about 15-20 minutes. Note that you must pre-arrange your visit. There are no toll roads on the way to the reserve. Parking is available at the entrance.

Tachila Nature Reserve, a Kalanga word meaning 'saviour of all living things', is located approximately 10 kilometers northeast of Francistown. This 8,000-hectare reserve represents a community-driven project focused on conservation and eco-tourism. The reserve boasts a diverse landscape, encompassing savannah grasslands, rocky hills, and acacia woodlands, creating habitats for a variety of wildlife. Visitors can spot species such as leopard, hyena, kudu, impala, bushbuck, steenbok, klipspringer, rock dassie, and warthog. Future plans include introducing rhino, sable and roan antelope, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and eland. Tachila Nature Reserve offers tourists a chance to connect with nature and observe wildlife in their natural landscapes. Activities include guided nature walks, bird watching, and game drives. The reserve also features picnic areas for relaxation and scenic viewpoints for sunset viewing. Educational programs and guided tours provide insights into local flora, fauna, and conservation efforts. While still under development, Tachila Nature Reserve aims to promote wildlife and natural resource conservation, increase eco-tourism potential, and diversify the local economy.
