    Bitterpan Wilderness Camp is exclusively accessible via a one-way 4x4 route starting from Nossob Rest Camp. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for deep sand and dune driving. Check in at Nossob Rest Camp before embarking on the approximately 2-hour drive to Bitterpan. No trailers are allowed. There are no access fees other than the park's conservation fees, which are payable upon entry to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.

Bitterpan Wilderness Camp offers a unique and intimate escape into the vastness of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Elevated on stilts above the red sand dunes, this exclusive camp overlooks a waterhole, providing unparalleled views and wildlife viewing opportunities. With only four chalets, Bitterpan ensures a tranquil and personal experience of the Kalahari. The camp is designed for self-catering, featuring a communal kitchen equipped with gas stoves, ovens, fridges, and all necessary utensils. Each chalet has its own braai (barbecue) facility, allowing guests to enjoy the starlit evenings with a traditional South African meal. The chalets themselves are constructed from reeds and canvas, with corrugated iron roofs covered in reeds, blending seamlessly into the natural environment. Each unit contains two single beds and a separate bathroom with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. Located in the center of the park, Bitterpan is accessible only by 4x4 vehicles via a one-way route from Nossob Rest Camp, adding to its remote and secluded charm. The camp is unfenced, allowing wildlife to roam freely, and a tourism assistant is always on duty to ensure guest safety and provide assistance. Visitors can enjoy game drives on the surrounding roads, with opportunities to spot iconic Kalahari species such as gemsbok, springbok, eland, and predators like black-maned lions and leopards.
