Driving

The most common way to reach Twee Rivieren is by driving from Upington Airport (UTN), the closest airport to the park. From the airport, rent a car and follow the R360 north for approximately 250km. The drive takes around 3 hours on a tarred road. Car rental facilities are available at the airport. Be sure to check gate opening and closing times before you travel.
Entrance Fees

Upon arrival at Twee Rivieren gate, you'll need to pay the daily conservation fees. For international visitors, the fee is approximately ZAR 370 per adult per day. South African citizens pay a reduced rate. A community fund of 1% is added to the cost of all accommodation and activity reservations. Ensure you have cash or a credit card for payment.

Twee Rivieren serves as the administrative hub and primary access point for the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, a vast wilderness spanning South Africa and Botswana. The camp is located 250km north of Upington , the nearest major town, and marks the southern entrance to the park. The surrounding landscape is characterized by striking red dunes and sparse vegetation, creating a dramatic backdrop for incredible wildlife encounters. The camp provides a range of amenities, including a reception, shop, fuel station, restaurant, information center, and a swimming pool. Twee Rivieren is the only camp in the park with 24-hour electricity and cell phone reception. Accommodation options include campsites, chalets, and family cottages. The Twee Rivieren Interpretation Centre offers insights into the history and ecology of the area. Visitors can explore the park on self-drive safaris or join guided game drives offered by the camp. The camp also features a bird hide with wheelchair access. From Twee Rivieren, visitors can venture further into the park to discover other rest camps like Nossob and Mata-Mata, each offering unique experiences.
